The Jefferson County Clerk's Office's top priority is the health and safety of our employees and customers. Following the Governor's recent mandate, the Jefferson County Clerk's Office is beginning to accept in-person transactions by appointment. However, all motor vehicle renewals will continue to be processed online, by mail, telephone or drop-box service only. The following resources can help assist any Jefferson County resident while eliminating an in-person visit to our office.

MOTOR VEHICLE TRANSACTIONS: All vehicle tax payments and registrations renewals will continue to be processed online, by telephone, mail or drop-box service only. All other motor vehicle transactions such as vehicle transfers (both in-state and out-of-state), duplicate title requests, disabled parking placards, boat & trailer transactions, etc., will be processed by appointment only. Appointments can be made at the Highview, Dixie and Westport Branches by calling each branch directly; Highview (502.239.6015 or 502.239.6016; Dixie (502.448.8699 or 502.448.8889); Westport (502.425.7142). Residents can renew online at drive.ky.gov. Mail-in renewals can be sent to P.O. Box 33033, Louisville, KY 40232-3033. To renew by telephone call 502.569.3300. Drop boxes are also available at all our motor vehicle branches if the appropriate documentation has been completed.

ACCESSING REAL ESTATE RECORDS & RECORDING ONLINE: Our Legal Records department is now offering e-recording services to those who have access to this service. Please click on this link for more information on this service; jeffersoncountyclerk.org/recording-indexing. Similarly, we offer an index of all real estate records from 1984 to present. Simply click on 'Legal Records' and navigate to 'On-line Land Records'. We also have a drop-box available at Metro Hall for those wanting to drop off their documents for recording. Legal Records will allow Title Research by appointment only. Please go to the Deed Room on this website for additional information.

MAIL-IN ABSENTEE BALLOT VOTING: To request an absentee ballot, please visit www.govoteky.com and click on "Absentee Ballot Request". If you need to contact the Jefferson County Clerk's Election Center, please call 502.574.6100 or e-mail at elections@jeffersoncountyclerk.org

MARRIAGE AND NOTARY LICENSES: Marriage licenses are by appointment only to Jefferson County residents (Call: 502.574.5884). Notary Commissions are also by appointment only. (Call: 502.574.5031).
