New Year (closure)

Description

The Jefferson County Clerk’s Office—including all Motor Vehicle Branch locations—will be closed Friday, December 30, 2022 and Monday, January 2, 2023. The Commonwealth of Kentucky’s Automated Vehicle Information System (AVIS) will not be operational during this time.

In accordance with KRS 116.055, December 31, 2022 is the last day to re-register with a new political party affiliation and still be eligible to vote in that party’s upcoming primary election, and voters must do so before 11:59 p.m. While voters can do so in person at any Jefferson County Clerk’s Office location, they must do so before locations close at 4:30 p.m. December 29 for the new year.

The fastest, easiest way for voters to update their registration with a new party affiliation is to visit govoteky.com and click on the New/Update Registration button.

Branch locations will return to normal business hours on Tuesday, January 3, 2022.
